A group of students were given the task of comparing the human body functions to a city. The students were stuck on how to fit the different types of roads into the system. Some roads like highways are fast and usually busy while other side roads sometimes have less traffic but you have to travel slower. One student suggested that the highways should represent the blood stream that hormones are carried in by the endocrine system since they are fast pathways. She also suggested the side roads should represent the paths neurons release neurotransmitter molecules on because they would travel slow. Should the group use this student's suggestions to represent the different road types?
