Basal application method​

In technical term, application of fertilizer(s) to soil before sowing of seeds or planting of seedlings is called basal application. Subsequent application of fertilizers to the crops is called topdressing.

It is a method by which the fertilizers are applied on the surface across an entire field. Often high capacity spreaders are used to spin dry fertilizer on the soil surface.
