This probably relates to photosynthesis which translates to make using light. As the amount of carbon dioxide is increased (the amount that the plant takes in), the outputs within the system increase. Thus, increasing the amount of energy or glucose. Carbon dioxide and glucose (energy) are also both dark reactions which are found within the Calvin Cycle.
