Record your answers in your Workbook. Note that the stages aren’t in order. That would be too easy. 1) Because the flashlight turned on with new batteries in it, this probably means that the original batteries were, in fact, dead, as you thought.
2) You switch on the flashlight, and discover it doesn’t work.
3) You insert new batteries, and switch it on. The flashlight works.
4) Perhaps the batteries are dead.
