Most chameleons eat insects. Since chameleons don't move fast, a chameleon's tongue darts rapidly out of its mouth to catch prey. The tongue can move faster than a human eye can see it. This tongue has a sticky spot on the end so prey cannot escape. The tongue also has specialized muscles that form a suction cup to hold the insect prey.
