4.14 Discussion: Generating Ideas

The first step in the writing process is generating ideas for your topic. Amy used a cluster diagram and took some notes to come up with her narrowed topic. In this discussion, you will discuss how you will go about generating topic ideas.

I am not much for cluster diagrams, because they don't help me come up with ideas. I prefer brainstorming, where I take a few minutes, set the timer, and just write ideas until the timer goes off. Being free to jot down any and all ideas really gets my creativity flowing. I will use the story map, though. I think that is a really good idea for planning the details in my story.
