Study #1: roaches in the kitchen Your apartment is home to many roaches. Rather than kill them, you decide that this is an opportunity to study roach populations. You spend an evening capturing roaches and marking them. Using baited traps, you collect 63 roaches and mark each with a tiny dot of paint. You release them all and wait two days to give them time to mix back into the population. After 48 hours you set the same traps out in the same places. You capture 138 roaches, of which 14 are marked. Using the Lincoln-Peterson Index formula, estimate the roach population in your kitchen.
