well, different species have different features depending on where they live, and most often than not, species will evolve to fit their surroundings. Like, for instance, a bird's beak will evolve over time and grow longer to reach the pollen from longer a longer flower. Some species may have tails to help them move because they might not have the balance or fins to help them swim because they live in water. Land animals wouldn't really need fins.
