If you look at the Periodic Table of Elements, you will noticed that the elements are arranged into groups. Why are these elements grouped? What qualities do the elements in these groups share? Describe at least one group in detail in your explanation.

The columns of the table represent groups, or families, of elements. The elements in a group often look and behave similarly, because they have the same number of electrons in their outermost shell — the face they show to the world.
