A very thin slice is removed from a peanut and treated with Sudan III, another indicator that turns red in the presence of a lipid. Then the same slice is treated with Biurets reagent. When the peanut is examined under a microscope, little patches of red and blue-violet can be seen. What conclusions can be drawn from this examination? Why would you expect this result?
