The French scientists Jean-Baptiste Lamark proposed a theory of evolution that stated a single organism can acquire traits over it's lifetime that are then passed to its offspring. Today this theory has changed and been replaced by Darwin's Theory of evolution by natural selection. Which of these best explains

Early biologists revised the theory through observation and experimentation with living organisms.
Scientific theories never change, only hypothesis can.
There was no good ideas about evolution at the time and a lot of people liked Charles Darwin.
Not a lot of people believed the original idea so a new theory was made based on what people thought might happen to organisms.
