Due to gravity more and more gas get collected and it forms a clump. When the clump get big enough the hydrogen atom crash each other to form the helium. The clump of gas becomes a star. The radio telescopes can be used to take pictures of these stars within the clump of gas. It can also be used to take picture of fusion of gases within a star to initiate the formation of new star.
