What are the pros and cons of having the digestion be slower and over distance, as opposed to being quicker and over shorter distance with slightly less absorption?

There are some  pros and cons of having the digestion be slower and over distance than quicker and over a shorter distance with slightly less absorption:

Pros:

Slower digestion leads to better hydration.More efficient metabolization of the food as nutrients are absorbed properly while in fast digestion the absorption of nutrients is less.Slower digestion and over a distance helps to maintain weight and prevent diseases.Slower digestion provide greater satisfaction with the meals

Cons:

Slow digestion can lead to abdominal bloating.Sometimes a person may feel lack energy and unintentionally gain weight.slow digestion can negatively impact bowel movement.Slow digestion can cause gastroparesis.

Hence, slower digestion has both pros and cons.
