Why are the examples of gravity effective in this passage?

Gravity is super important to our everyday lives.  It is the Sun's gravity that keeps the Earth in the suns orbit. All of the Life on Earth needs the Sun's light and warmth to survive. Gravity helps the Earth  stay just the right distance away from the Sun, so it's not too hot or too chilly.
