Such mutations can be passed to daughter cells during mitosis but can not be passed to offspring via sexual reproduction. Germline mutations occurs in the germ line cells which gives rise to cells that are passed down to offspring. Germline cells gives rise to the sex cells that which are passed to offspring through the process of sexual reproduction involving the egg and the sperm.
