Liver is an organ in a human body that plays very important role in toxin clearance from the human body. It helps in the digestion of food and absorption of nutrients in the body. The infection that is caused by hepatitis B virus results in damaging the liver. The word  “hepatitis” refers to the inflammation caused in liver.

Liver is a soft organ and when it is infected by this virus it will become hardened and leads to many diseases such as Fibrosis, Cirrhosis, Liver cancer and liver failure. Hence, a patient who is infected by this virus will eventually die if it is left untreated.
