For example, the peppered moth in Britain. Before the industrial revolution, the white speckled form was well camouflaged against tree trubks with similar pattern and colouration. Around 1848 during industrial revolution the environment was darkened by soot. Due to this change the dark form emerged that blended well against the barks of trees which had been darkened.
