-The gill cover is a bony plate located outside of the gills, and is used for protecting the organism's gills. Most bony fishes have one.

-The lateral line is a sensory stem that goes along the side of the fish's head to the base of the tail, which is used for sensing electrical vibrations in the water. Most of all fish have this, including sharks.

-The caudal fin is the tail of the fish. It's used for propulsion and quick accelerations in locomotion. Most fish have one.
