Which type of organism converts wastes and dead materials into nutrients that can be used by plants

Decomposers feed on dead and decaying organisms. They recycle important nutrients in these organisms back to the soil which can be absorbed back into plants through root systems. Fungi and annelids are some of many decomposers.
