Medical Practice Management Software (MPM), in contrast to HER, deals with clerical work such as documentation, procedure codes, appointment scheduling, insurance and medical billing processes whereas Electronic Health Record (EHR) is patient oriented software which contains a patient’s past and current medical records, including test results, diagnosis coding and such information that helps clinician to treat a particular disease.

Basic components of MPM includes, scheduling, billing records, claims and statements etc whereas EHR contains patient’s medical records, test reports etc.

Medical centers need both softwares for efficient work but the need still may varies.
