Atenolol is prescribed either solitary or with other medicines to treat hypertension and is also used in the treatment of chest pain and to better survival post heart attack.  

However, certain precautions should be taken while using the drug as the drug may make one feel dizzy, so in that case consumption of alcohol or marijuana may make one feel dizzier.
