 Area of the retina without rods or cones, where the optic nerve exits the back of the eye. In the retina, the specialized neurons that connect the rods and cones with the ganglion cells. I believe that it would be the scotoma. This is because there are rods and cones of the retina and they are connected to the optic nerve. Where the optic nerve leaves the eye and branches off and wanders towards the nasal region, has no cones or rods. Which is called the blind spot or the scotoma.
