This normally occurs, after the Ach achieves its effects on its receptors. On the other hand, acetylcholinesterase inhibitors inhibits the acetylcholinesterase enzyme thereby increasing the level and duration of action of the neurotransmitter ACh. Acetylcholinesterase inhibitors are used as insecticides.
