In the story "pauls case" why is paul irritated and wretched after the concert?

The answer is d.  When he was listening to the concert, he felt that he was in a better place and it made him feel good.  The feeling lingered that he forgot that it was raining.  In a way, the rain brought Paul back to the sad reality that his life He felt so good about listening to the concert that it made him forget his feelings of alienation from society.  Ultimately, his alienation leads him to end his life as he feelings of loneliness and alienation get the better of him.
