What were the key features of the new spirit that came to be called the renaissance?

The rebirth of the classic arts and the humanism, the first was the movement of the Italian scholars that believed the arts had been declining in quality for a thousand years, and thus proposed and succeed to rebirth the classic Greco-Roman arts; the second was the rupture of the theocentric conception of reality and the notion that the physical existence was unimportant and just a preparation for the afterlife in favor of a more materialistic approach in which the man, and the life on earth became the new  main ideas.

After diffusing in several places appeared the key characteristics of the new spirit of the Renaissance. These are the following: Recovering ancient Greco-Roman art, New profane themes, The idea of ideal beauty, The study of nature, The study of human anatomy, Adapting the perspective and canons of classicism, The signature of the authors in their works.
