Using the notation principles you've learned, compose an original melody using Noteflight. Be sure to incorporate the characteristics of a good melody as you write–pitch variation, phrase, and shape. Be creative! Writing your own music can be so much fun–After all, no one else in the world has ever before written a piece exactly like yours will be! Follow these guidelines as you compose:

Write at least a 16 measure melody.
Include at least four (4) phrases.
Use proper notation–clef, time signature, measures, etc.
Begin and end on the pitch C.
Create a meaningful title for your melody.
Other than these few guidelines, the choices are up to you. You may even add lyrics if you want to. No matter what, though, enjoy composing!

Analyze your composition according to the pitch variation, phrase, and shape that your melody portrays, and then write a short essay of 2-3 paragraphs explaining it. Also, describe why the title you chose is appropriate.
