I would say the answer for this problem is B, that everyone has an appreciation for art when examined carefully. I disagree with this statement since there are definitely people in the world that feel as though they don't "get" art, and that art is something that they have to "get" in order to appreciate it. Some of these people find themselves in a state of denial or jealousy that art doesn't contribute anything to society and that it has no value or benefit to anyone, not even the artist, who is just wasting their time. Others can't believe that you can actually study art and "pretend" to have a job, or whatever their case is. Point is, a lot of people dislike art for many reasons, and while it pains me, as an artist myself, to say it, it's the truth.

Another reason why I think B is your answer is because all of the other choices are statements I can get behind. Art does combine balance, proportion, composition, and imagery – it's just the nature of art to contain these things, just as any real-life situation or image would. No matter the situation, these four things will always show up in any visual art you will ever see.

C is also a statement I can agree with. For example, my art tends to reflect certain aspects of my environment and is constantly fueled by my emotions, in addition to many artists out there. Even the most minimalist of pieces most likely came from some feeling, emotion, provocation, or inspiration the artist was feeling that day.

For the reasons why I stated statement B was false, D is true. I don't think I need to go into why people somehow find themselves disliking art again.

This doesn't have to be the case - there are some people who don't enjoy art, dislike even thought they might understand it.
