OK, so here is where we compare and contrast notes on what we heard. Give me two or three sentences on the following pieces. The first piece, Hildegard's Alleluia. What did you like about this piece? Did you find the lack of rhythmic pulse odd? Monophonic music is not familiar to our 21st-century ears.

How did listening to the Organum from the Notre Dame school change what was heard?

In comparing the Josquin des Prez and the Palistrina Motets: Did you like one more than the other? Do you think the Council of Trent helped to clarify the text? Were there any drawbacks to the change in sound?

Likewise, were you surprised that the Renaissance Madrigals were discussing sex? Death as a euphemism for orgasm, or all the "kissing up and down" when Fair Phyllis was found?

Finally, in the Dance pieces we listened to, you can see and hear the repetition almost of every phrase. Why do you suppose they are written that way?
