After the death of Connor Murphy, people begin to believe that he and Evan were friends. To support this, and hide the reality of a therapy note, Evan and a family friend, Jared, create fake emails, pretending that Connor and Evan were friends. This led to many complications, including Connor's family taking Evan in, almost as a son. When his Mom (Heidi) finds out about this, she feels anger and betrayal.

While all of this is happening at the Hansen and Murphy homes, the letters make their way to Evan's school. A student, Alana Beck, wants to create a program to both honor Connor and show that "No one deserves to be forgotten." She finds that the letters don't completely make sense and that Evan's whole heart wasn't in the project. While trying to fix this problem with Alana, Evan and Jared also get into an argument.

"Good for You" shows the anger of Heidi, Alana, and Jared towards Evan, as well as the guilt Evan feels when thinking about what he has done, and how it will affect his future.

I love the emotion in both the lyrics and tone of the actors' voices in this song.
