Imagine that a sound engineer has been asked to produce the sound of a dog barking. Why would the sound engineer need to know the size of the dog and the circumstances to make it believable? Most people can tell the breed of dog by the bark.

Small dogs have lower, deeper barks than large dogs.

Creating a dog bark sound is not the job of a sound engineer.

These factors would determine the tone and intensity of the bark.
