An art is able to transcend the time period which is it was made if it has as a sense of relatability- meaning that the message included in an artwork is able to conform to whatever situation is currently being experienced by the viewer. Most famous artworks are able to conform to current trends and conditions.

representing human figures in abstract forms is often used in the geometric period, not hellenistic  period.   during the hellenistic  period,   aesthetic value derived from creating arts which mimic the actual shape of a certain object or individuals.
