Li, jose, and sam are in tenth grade. they have been assigned a group research project. jose is happy because he learns best when is given the freedom to research his favorite topics and then can bounce ideas off of others. sam is annoyed because he feels that he is far ahead of his classmates. he would prefer to do the project by himself since he knows he would get a good grade. li likes working in the group, but worries that the group will never be able to agree. she wants to split the project up so that there is one person in charge of each section of the project.
