How has our understanding of the universe changed over time?

We used to think the planet was flat and there were no other planets at the time

It's changed over time from millions of scientist who has made discovery's about new planets and that there is a possibility there is more then one universe and we found out more stuff about black holes and everything all of it is linked to each other
